Wesley has an honours degree from University of Lagos; he is a Fellow of both the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (U.K) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
He joined Ernst & Whinney (then one of the biggest accounting, auditing and management consultancy firms in the world) in June 1979 and served with them in varying capacities (with over two years spell in their London Office) before leaving as a manager in November 1986 to start off his own practice Wesley O. Kafidiya & Co., which merged with Olusesi Sowande & Co. to become Sowande Kafidiya & Co. in 2005. He is the Technical Partner of the combined firm.
Under the auspices of Ernst & Whinney, Wesley O. Kafidiya & Co. and Sowande Kafidiya & Co. he has acquired tremendous amount of varied practical experience and has had executive responsibility for several clients in varying situations in industry and commerce. His experience spans various industries including service, oil & gas, manufacturing, vehicle assembly plant, construction, airline, banking, insurance other financial institutions and government organisations.
Wesley has served the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria [ICAN] in various voluntary capacities as Articled Clerks & Approved Students Committee Member (1982-1986), Professional Examinations Assessor/Group Leader/Supervisor/Examiner/Chief Examiner/Reviewer (1984-2016), , Professional Examinations Invigilator (1987-1988), ICAN Accounting Technicians Scheme Examinations Invigilator/Assessor/Questions’ Reviewer (1989-1990, 2014), Professional Examinations Committee Member (2008-2011, 2015-2017), and Public Practice Monitoring Committee Member (2012-2013).
In public voluntary service and charitable activities, Wesley was the Charter President of Ife Model Lions Club (2010-2011), Past President of Ikeja Lions Club (2012-2013), Past District Cabinet Treasurer (2014-2015) and currently Vice District Governor, Lions Clubs International District 404B-2 Nigeria and the Multiple Council Treasurer, Multiple District 404, Nigeria; besides serving on various Committees at the Club and District levels. He is also a National Secretary of Lisabi Grammar School Abeokuta Old Students’ Association (1995-2005) and Treasurer, Ife May Club (2001 to date). Since 1997 to date, he is a Trustee and Director of Joy Welfare and Charity Ministry (an NGO).
In God’s Vineyard Wesley is a Pastor and Special Apostle in Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide [CSMC, Ayo-Ni-O]. He has served as the Church Auditor in U.K. (1978-1980). He has served in Surulere District Headquarter of the Church as Secretary and Vice-Captain of Bands (1982-2003), Acting Conference Auditor (1994-2003), Member of Audit & Systems Control Committee (2005-2015), Member of Conference Budget & Planning Committee (2010 to date), and Coordinator of Church Security Council (2011-2015). He has being a Church Warden since 1982 and the District Chief Warden (2003 to date) as well as the Apostolic Deputy (CEO) of Welfare & Helps Ministry (2015 to date).
